We have our own closet. Maybe that doesn’t impress
you, but if pressed, I’d be willing to share
a hanger. I should go through these clothes,
make a pile of shirts I never wear anymore
— what an effort. Aren’t closets to hide messes anyway?
Mine declared its ultimatum in carefully arranged polos
demanding closure. I’ve never been one to leave
things hanging.

For Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt #125 : “ultimatum“

I think this prose will resonate with most everyone. Very cleaver. Polos, that is a word I haven’t heard in a long time. Thanks for sharing. Love ❤️ J

Thanks! I didn’t have space to say “collared shirts” or “button-up shirts” – the thrill of forcing an economy of words on someone!

Oh, so true. Excellent example, difficult to hit that exact number but you made it look easy. Funny how words evoke so many memories, like the word polos. Have a great one. Love J
