Morning keeps arriving
with a slap of good intentions —
cheeky red reminder
that fortune favors those
bold enough to get out of bed.
Do I merely follow the sun
on Instagram or
dance cheek to cheek
with others audacious enough
to face another day?

Loved this! Especially “cheeky red reminder.” That’s such a great phrase.

Oh… I find it way to easy this time to be up at sunrise, but it only has to do with arriving at work.

Your audacious quadrille made me smile, Phillip, and that’s such a beautiful mage to illustrate it. I especially enjoyed the opening lines – nothing like a slap in the face to wake you up!

The first stanza says it all! It’s like preparing for battle- just getting out of bed!

I really like this one, part sensual part curious, partially based in reality.
I like the way you write.

Lovely poem. I think many of us would rather stay in bed than get up to battle at work.

The morning does tend to arrive filled with good intentions – Sadly, I think some days it just falls apart in the daily grind.

Sometimes it requires great courage and strength to face certain days Phillip — but usually a pay off for doing so.

There is a point in this, sir, 🌹 , and that is growth, and togetherness. Ai really enjoyed reading it.

You are tempting me, and no way aI will fall into that trap. “Trapp” in Norwegian is stairs, and aI, in fact, in my imagination, can hear those steps, what you, sir, cannot from my comment. 😊
