komorebi

She moves through me
like sunlight swims through the trees,
energizing / enchanting
me at dawn / me at dusk
& I live because she travels thousands
of miles to nourish me.

The sun moves across the sky
sharing heat no matter the season,
high spirits / low shadows
in summer / in winter
& I’m warmed as I drink her in
like an oaky Scotch whiskey.

komorebi ( 木漏れ日 ) is the Japanese word for sunlight, which is filtered through the leaves of the trees.

My name is Phillip. I am a Tar Heel born and bred and watch every Yankees game I can. I'm still searching for my own TARDIS. My first novel, "The Alien in the Backseat," is available now! https://amzn.to/3oVCG77
