In the moonlight

I watch her saunter through the room
because there’s nothing on tv
& anyway the flickering light
from the fire bounces off her cheeks

I see the spark that hangs
like a moonbeam near her ear as
her hair bounces with each step & still
the twilight knows not to interrupt.
