The morning starts with yes
wrapped in the smell of dawn
as it sheds the night
star by star
A no always stings
the throat & those sheer curtains
are so inviting
The moon reflects
on the day star by star
We say yes

OH you had me enthralled with the first two lines. I like the repetition of “star by star” as a reflection of the day. How lovely!

The weekends can be my “No” mornings, slipping back to sleep until 9-10am. “Is it lunch yet?” I ask my wife. “Just about it”, she replies.

“star by star
We say yes”
This is such a simple, yet profound truth. By merely rising, the majority of us do not even realize we’ve made a choice to say “Yes” Love this.

Raivenne captured my response so well. I would like to shine a light on it. A perfect morning poem for me.
